Bulky Waste Update

Residents have spoken and the City of Sugar Land has listened!

Effective November 1, 2023*, residents will no longer need to schedule bulky waste pickups and will instead receive bulky waste service on a routine schedule (2nd Monday of each month for Chimneystone residents)

Guidelines

– Set bulky items out by 7 a.m. on collection day but no earlier than 6 p.m. the evening before.

– Residents may place up to five cubic yards of bulky waste out for collection on their bulky waste service day.

– Bulky items should be set out at the curb at least four feet from other objects.

– Do not place items in garbage carts for bulky waste collection. Items should be placed directly at the curb.

*Until the change has gone into effect you will still need to follow the current guidelines. As a reminder, you may not place heavy trash at the curb until you have a confirmed pickup date from Republic and no earlier than 6 p.m. the day before your pickup date. This will also continue to be strictly enforced when the change takes place.

Following the guidelines is important as it will help to avoid HOA letters and fines.
